"This is a long story but I want you to know why I chose State Farm. Yesterday I became a STATE FARM customer. The day before yesterday I had an irrational conversation with my previous car insurance company (Progressive) NOTE: I've was a loyal pay-on-time-customer for about 9 years. But that changed after I received a letter from Progressive that said I had to add a friend of mine to my insurance policy and it was gonna cost me over fifty dollars a month to add her. When I asked why they said it was because she and I share an address, I explained to her it's a temporary situation and she never drives my car. The irritating woman at Progressive insisted adding her was not an option. When I said no she said if i refused they would list my policy as non renewable. SMH in disbelief...then she asked me several questions that I thought were invasive and despicable. She asked what gender is listed on my friend's driver's license, GASP! AFTER I CAUGHT MY BREATH... I explained I'd never seen her driver's license. Then, she (the Progressive agent) asked if my friend had ever identified as another gender in the last three years. By this time smoke was coming out of my ears!! I tried to explain, my friend is a WOMAN who has her own car and her own insurance and doesn't drive my car! Then she said thats good because Progressive is listing her as a NON-DRIVER. At this point I was mad and disgusted, and said ma'am, I'm not adding her to my policy. The agent kept insisting that she had to add her because she lives at my house. I explained again we don't share cars, we don't share a bedroom, bathroom, we don't even share tupperware! At that point, she said your policy is now listed as Non-Renewable and she disconnected our call. Seconds later, I got a text message saying, your voice conversation is no longer active. So the next thing I did was look up STATE FARM on the internet. I filled out it out a questionnaire, and almost immediately, I received a quote. Unfortunately, I got busy and didn't look at the quote but the next morning, the sweetest young lady gave me a call and asked if I had a few minutes to talk regarding my quote. Her name is Rachel, she works at the STATE FARM OFFICE on Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville Beach. WOW! What I noticed first was how polite and easy to talk to she was. As a former Business Owner I immediately recongnized her courtesy and professional phone manner. As we continued our conversation, I learned that a policy with STATE FARM would be less than the policy at Progressive, of course, I was delighted to hear this news! Before I said "sign me up" I told her about my friend living at my house, kind of afraid she would tell me State Farm has a similar policy, but instead, she said, no, as long as my friend has a valid driver's license and her own auto policy theres no need to add her. Long story coming to an end...By this time I was anxious to close the deal. Rachel explained with a credit card paymennt, she could start a new policy same day. While I was getting my purse Rachel and I had a friendly chat and I complimented her and said you have a very kind and friendly phone voice. Next she offered to meet me in person and print me a real insurance card (not digital). To sum this up, I highly recommend Michael Tauzel and Rachel at STATE FARM where you'll be treated like a neighbor instead of a number. After my call with Rachel, I immediately sent a message to her boss praising her customer service skills. If you need an insurance policy call Rachel and tell her Shari said she's AWSOME."

I didn't see a letter from Virginia DMV. the DMV Stating I still had valid tags, so I need to show proof of insurance. they flagged my Florida Licensed as not having insurance. I had to call the Virginia DMV then walk into the State Farm office so Tajana or Lindsay could talk with them. every other day I was walking into the office because they didn't see the Text or Fax. I don’t write many reviews or typically use this phrase when referring to personal line insurance, but this group, and our agents at this location (Allison as the primary and Alaine who also helped), understand service from a concierge perspective. Moving across the country is hard and redoing all major personal property and auto coverage in a new state is the least fun thing, quite stressful and yet a necessity. They approached our needs from an insurance portfolio viewpoint. Not a constant upsell, but an understanding of our needs and continuous guidance on the best way to obtain important coverage at a fair cost. Included, without hesitation, was genuine support in welcoming us to our new location and assistance in the closing on our home, where connections between bankers, closing attorneys and real estate agents was needed.
